At WJ, we have a national service that can offer innovative asphalt maintenance systems to treat cracking and fretted joint failure at the surface to prevent water ingress into the layers of the pavement.
Developed in house, Jointscreed is a BBA Hapas approved two-part screed applied crack / fretted joint repair system for asphalt pavements. The process has unique benefits in comparison to similar systems as it requires no milling of the existing carriageway and is typically traffic ready in 10 minutes after application.
Part 1: A highly polymerised, flexible infill material which fills the void and supports the edges of the crack or fretted joint.
Part2: Incorporates high PSV granite or bauxite aggregate which seals the repair ensuring that it is watertight and provides a finished surface / repair with a high skid resistant value.
Jointscreed will repair cracks and fretted joints in all asphalt pavements including those in high stressed areas such as junctions, traffic islands and sever bends together with longitudinal and transverse crack / joints on motorways.
Safetrack Overbanding is a BBA Hapas approved highly durable skid resistant overbanding system, developed to extend the life of asphalt & concrete by sealing cracks in the road surface and is suitable for cracks up to 5mm wide. Unlike bitumen based overbanding, Safetrack Overbanding offers the road retexturing benefits of thermal stability and high skid resistance, both of which are retained over time.
These features combined with the system’s matt (non-glare) asphalt grey colour, improve driver safety while extending the life of asphalt and concrete road surfaces.
The system is cold applied with no hot trades; it does not ‘spread’ under traffic load and is resistant to most common chemicals, fuels & oils. Safetrack Overbanding is set to reverse the negative thinking that was in danger of discrediting this potentially very effective, low cost road repair method.
Safetrack Crack & Fill
Safetrack Crack Infill is a BBA Hapas approved skid resistant, highly durable infill system for cracks in excess of 5mm.
Developed to provide the same high quality repair as Safetrack Overbanding where the crack has been allowed to develop. In addition, this system is also suitable to repair ‘fretted’ or ‘open’ joints in asphalt pavements and road surfaces. Safetrack Crack Infill arrests further joint decay by filling the gap and supporting the edges of the asphalt which also stops water from penetrating the road structure below.
Incorporating skid resistant aggregate in our MMA resins ensures a high SRV throughout its service life. Minimal preparation and simple application techniques enable the treatment of long joints and cracks whilst the material’s fast-curing property ensures that road-use may resume in as quickly as 30 minutes.
This system rapidly fills cracks with minimal preparation giving long-term protection whilst ensuring safe-application.
