WJ to Provide Insight into an Innovative Approach to Safety As part of What Good Looks Like the RSMA are drawing on the experience and best practice of a number of member companies; as part of this Craig Williams, WJ Group Health and Safety Manager representing the four WJ member companies, will be sharing with delegates attending ‘Roadmarking Live’ WJ’s cutting edge approach towards continuous safety improvements for site operations.
The award winning safety improvements have been recognised by and are in line with the objectives set by main contractors and highway authorities.
WJ’s proactive approach to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) was evident when they recently issued the entire workforce with garments that provide four (4) levels of protection – Flame Retardant, Fluorescence, Reflectivity and Phosphorescence. Not only this, Craig will also be sharing information on gaining ‘buy in’ from their operatives to constantly improve standards.
As clients raise the bar for contractors road marking companies can expect to see demands for improved standards of safety over the next three years.
This therefore, presents an excellent opportunity for association members to not only see the standard reached and hear how WJ have managed to develop a good safety culture throughout the company, but to also learn how they influenced a positive change in behavioural attitudes amongst their operatives and other employees.
To hear more about these ground-breaking activities in the road marking sector, you must be at ‘Roadmarking Live’.
Taking place at Chesford Grange, Warwickshire on 11th and 12th of November 2015, this year’s RSMA annual conference’s focus is to demonstrate to the sector and to wider industry as a whole best practice in procedure, policy and the most effective tools to do the job.
The event brings together all stake holders in the industry, contractors, clients, policy makers and budget holders to define ‘what good looks like’ in terms of the products applied to our road surface, ‘what good looks like’ in terms of the standards and specifications to which we apply those products and ‘what good looks like’ in terms of the relationships between clients and contractors.
This conference is designed around business needs responding to what you, our members have asked for and as a result is a conference ‘for the members; by the members’.
